Major onshore reprocessing and merge project awarded in Assam area by Oil India

Absolute Imaging is pleased to announce the award of a 5,200 sq km 3D merge project in India’s geologically complex Assam area. The seismic surveys are located in the prolific oil-producing areas of Upper Assam Basin where multiple 3D seismic campaigns have been carried out over the years to cover the acreages in the Upper Assam basin in North-East India.

This project will consist of 28 3Ds aged 1994-2022, which will be merged and processed through Pre-Stack Time Migration (PSTM), with a subset being processed through Pre-Stack Depth Migration (PSDM). Advanced technologies such as FWI and RTM/LS RTM will also be applied. The objective of this reprocessing project is to obtain an amplitude preserved (AVO friendly) volume of the sub-surface image while ensuring reliability in amplitude, phase & frequency throughout the merged 3D volume for subsequent interpretation & reservoir characterization studies.

Mr. Elvis Floreani (CEO & President of Absolute Imaging Inc.) and Mr. Ajit Singh (President of AII India) attended the project kick-off meeting at Oil India’s R&D center located in Duliajan, Assam.

Absolute Imaging would like to extend a thank you to Mr. Saloma Yomodo (Director E&D) and his team for a productive and collaborative meeting.
