Hurricane Erick a non-event at Congreso Mexicano del Petroleos

The Congreso Mexicano del Petroleo (CMP) is the premiere yearly opportunity for professionals in the Mexican energy industry to network, hear presentations on cutting-edge processes and practices, and learn what new technologies are being offered by major vendors. Absolute Imaging traveled to Exhibit at this year’s CMP, held in Acapulco, as part of the Canada and Alberta delegation. The theme of the event was “Efficiency, innovation and sustainability: Challenges and solutions in the oil sector”.

While there were warnings to avoid Acapulco due to the impending nearby landfall of hurricane Erick, the CMP was only slightly delayed. The organizers did an amazing job of hosting the Congreso amid challenging conditions. The attendance was down somewhat, however, those that did make the trip to Acapulco made up for it with their enthusiasm and enjoyed what turned out to be pleasant weather. The Absolute Imaging team at the CMP, consisting of Elvis Floreani and Jason Harper, learned more about the Mexican petroleum industry, made several new connections and met with our business partner in Mexico, Apogee Mexico. Special thanks go out to the organizers and the professional event staff, Miguel Gonzales of the Canadian Embassy in Mexico City and his team, and to everyone who stopped by our booth or took the time to speak with us during the show. We are excited for next year’s event in this growing market for Absolute Imaging.
