Middle Magdalena Valley processing being executed by Absolute Imaging for Colombian NOC

As part of Absolute Imaging’s previously announced multi-year contract with Colombian state-owned Oil & Gas company Ecopetrol, an additional project has been awarded. The surveys are located in Colombia’s Middle Magdalena Valley and comprise both 2D and 3D seismic programs. Absolute Imaging, working closely with Ecopetrol’s technical team, will provide both Pre-Stack Time Migration (PSTM) and Pre-Stack Depth Migration (PSDM) products. The 2D and 3D data consists of vintages spanning several decades between 1980 and 2010. A unified approach to the near-surface model incorporating both the 2D and 3D will be used for the refraction statics and integration into the depth velocity model. The 3D’s are also being processed in an amplitude-preserving manner to allow for future Quantitative Interpretation of the volumes.
