Orientation Analysis and Rotation
Processing three component surveys relies on the proper orientation of receivers. Absolute uses data driven methods to confirm that horizontal component field orientations are as expected and can correct them if they are not. Vertical orientation rotation corrects receivers with tilted vertical components that can otherwise negatively affect p-wave data.
Knowing when to rotate to different domains like radial/transverse or PS1/PS2 is critical to processing steps like deconvolution, velocities, statics and imaging. Absolute is mindful that signal can be damaged or vital information lost if processing is not done thoughtfully and with care.
