Event Similarity Prediction (ESP) enhances small
and large scale structural and stratigraphic areas
from seismic trace volumes. This process computes
local trace-to-trace dissimilarity. The advantage
of dissimilarity data is that it reveals and highlights
lateral seismic changes that often relate to geologic
changes. The dissimilarity measurements yield the
visual identification of such features as faults,
facies change and other geological patterns. Faults
and stratigraphic changes will often stand out as
prominent anomalies in otherwise homogeneous data.
